Mike Bauman earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Southern Illinois University. He has been employed for the past 28 years with Miami-Dade County. In his first position with Miami-Dade, he managed toll facilities and later was promoted as an administrator in the County’s Road, Bridge, and Canal Maintenance Division. In 2002, he returned to the County’s Causeways Division as the Division Chief with annual revenues of over $18 million at the Rickenbacker and Venetian Causeways. Besides South Florida, Mike has lived in Tennessee, Chicago, the Twin Cities of Minnesota, St. Louis, the Caribbean Island of Margarita, and Venezuela. He is a lifelong cyclist and paddler, two of the most efficient forms of transportation that remain un-tolled!
