Mr. Howse was appointed to the Florida Transportation Commission on December 9, 2009. He was elected Chairman of the Commission in December 2011. Mr. Howse is President of Real Deal Development Group, an Engineering and Land Planning company and is a licensed Civil Engineer. He was a Councilman for the City of St. Cloud, a Board Member of the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council, a Board Member of the Kissimmee/Osceola County Chamber of Commerce and the Assistant Director of Public Works for the City of Altamonte Springs. He has been involved with many civic organizations over the years.
