Executive Director of Transportation and Transit

Tawny H. Olore currently serves as the Executive Director of Osceola County’s Transportation & Transit Department. In her current position, Ms. Olore is responsible for the oversight and management of all transportation projects in Osceola County, from inception, through design and construction, to completion. As well, she oversees a staff of 48 employees and dozens of consultants who assist her with keeping Osceola County on the move.
Prior to joining Osceola County in 2017, Ms. Olore served as the Program Manager for the Florida Department of Transportation’s Rail Transit program in District Five, specifically managing all aspects of SunRail, Central Florida’s Commuter Rail project.
Ms. Olore’s duties with SunRail include shepherding the project through the federal funding process, coordinating required local and state government approvals, and managing all aspects of the design, construction and implementation of the Project – again, from its inception to full operation.
Ms. Olore has more than two decades of previous experience assessing impacts associated with various transportation and environmental projects. She also has extensive management experience preparing environmental documents and public involvement strategies for several rail, Interstate highway and road improvement projects in Central Florida and around the country.
Ms. Olore received her bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Maine and her master’s degree in Civil Engineering from West Virginia University. She is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida.
